Vision – BBSCO envisions a resilient, balanced, and competitive Black Sea tourism destination where economic benefits are aligned with environmental protection, social well-being, and long-term territorial sustainability.

Mission – The mission of the Black Sea Sustainable Tourism Observatory (BBSCO) is to support evidence-based decision-making for sustainable tourism development along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast through systematic monitoring, analysis, and dissemination of key sustainability indicators.

Strategic objective – The strategic objective of BBSCO is to establish an effective and integrated monitoring system for sustainable tourism along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast which, through innovative methods, strong partnerships, and intelligent governance, supports sustainable development, responsible use of natural and socio-economic resources, and improved quality of life for local communities in the region.

The Observatory operates in line with the principles and methodological framework of the UNWTO International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO).
